WHAT IS PRE-STUDY?

To make the most of your in-person training, all TWENTY Academy courses include a mandatory online pre-study module. This has been designed for you to complete at home, in your own time, before attending your practical training day.

Why Pre-Study Matters

The pre-study ensures that when you arrive at the Academy, you’re ready to go straight into hands-on, practical training. It covers all the essential theory you need—so that your in-person day can focus entirely on developing your skills at the desk.

Who Needs to Complete It?

Every student. Whether you’re a complete beginner or a qualified nail tech, the pre-study module is a requirement for all courses.

  • Beginners: This will be your first introduction to nail anatomy, product knowledge, safety and hygiene.
  • Qualified techs: Think of it as a refresher and a test of your knowledge—it's always good to revisit the basics, especially when learning new systems or techniques.

When Is It Due?

All pre-study must be fully completed no later than 7 days before the start of your in-person training.

This gives your educator time to review your progress and ensures you arrive confident and prepared.

How to Access Your Pre-Study Course

  1. Head to www.twentypro.co.uk
  2. Go to the Account section
  3. Log in using the email you used to purchase your course
  • If you don’t have an account yet, you can create one using the same email

WHY IN-PERSON TRAINING?
Why In-Person Training Matters

While online courses offer flexibility and convenience, nothing compares to the quality, depth, and hands-on confidence you gain from in-person training—especially when you're learning a technical, practical skill like nail application.

Here’s why our in-person training makes all the difference:

1. Learn By Doing — Not Just Watching

Watching videos can teach theory, but real confidence comes from physically practising the techniques under expert guidance. You’ll be working with real products, on real hands, in real time—so you can refine your skills through action, not guesswork.

2. Instant, Personalised Feedback

With in-person training, your educator is right there to correct, adjust, and guide you every step of the way. This level of live, tailored feedback is something you simply can’t get from pre-recorded content.

3. Spot & Correct Bad Habits Early

Without supervision, it’s easy to develop incorrect techniques that can lead to lifting, client complaints, or even damage to the natural nail. In-person training allows us to spot those mistakes early—and fix them on the spot—before they become bad habits.

4. Build Confidence in a Real-World Setting

Our classroom environment is designed to mimic salon scenarios, giving you the chance to practise services in realistic conditions. You’ll gain experience managing timing, product control, and client communication in a way that prepares you for real paying clients.

5. Human Support = More Motivation

Learning can feel lonely online. In-person, you're surrounded by fellow students, a supportive educator, and a buzz of encouragement. You can ask questions, get reassurance, and stay motivated from start to finish.

6. You're Not Just Learning—You're Being Assessed

We hold our students to professional industry standards. That means you’re not just ‘ticking boxes’—you’re being coached, assessed, and supported until your skills meet the standard required to succeed in real life.

The TWENTY Standard

At TWENTY, we believe that nail training should be more than just passable—it should be exceptional. That’s why our in-person courses are immersive, detailed, and backed by industry-leading educators who care about your success.

Because when you’re working with real clients, real products, and real responsibility…

You deserve real training.
