FAQ

PRODUCTS, APPLICATION & SAFETY

Do you sell your products to the general public?

No, our products are only available to purchase by qualified beauty professionals. Gel polish must be applied by a professional nail technician who is aware of the safety protocols and curing times required.

Are your products HEMA free?

Our HEMA Free range will be launching Summer '23 and is also Di-HEMA, HPMA & IBOA free. Manufactured in Europe to ISO 22716 standards by law, consists of highly pigmented gel colour, mesmerising shimmers and our brand new product FLEX & BOOST™ designed to strength and promote growth of natural nails. Infused with Vitamin E, FLEX & BOOST™ also conditions during wear, leaving nails strong, long and most importantly, healthy.

The rest of our products contain low levels of HEMA and must not be used on those with acrylate sensitivities.

What lamp should I use to cure your products?

We recommend using SunUV lamps, you can purchase the Sun7 model directly from our website here Our gels have been thoroughly tested with these lamps and the range is relatively inexpensive and efficient, allowing you to try our gels without the additional cost of an expensive lamp.

We advise using a 36W UV/LED lamp with a minimum of 365 + 405 nanometers to provide proper curing of our products. Anything less powerful than this may result in improper curing.

We also advise curing BUILD & BOOST™, our builder gel in a bottle in a lamp with a 99 second low heat mode, this helps to prevent heat spikes and ensure the product is fully cured.

Our HEMA free collection cure at 90 seconds per cure.

Do I need to apply HEMA free differently to regular gel polish?

Due to the absence of HEMA, it is important that the nail is fully prepped before application to aid adhesion and increase longevity. Follow our tips below to help your HEMA free set last!

Nail Preparation

  • Push back cuticles starting from the side walls of the nail, working your way into the centre of the nail. Invisible cuticle matter can grow right up into the middle of the nail plate, so it's important to remove this and not just concentrate solely on the cuticle area.
  • Using a cuticle curette, gently pull back the side walls of the nail and work out any remaining cuticle from these areas as well as from the cuticle area itself.
  • Consistently use a dust brush to dust the removed cuticle from the nail plate as you are working, this allows debris to be removed so you can easily tell when no further cuticle is lifting from the nail as you gently scrape.
  • File the nail into your desired shape, and using a 100/180 grit buffer, etch the nail plate by gently buffing each nail in different directions until you have taken the shine off the natural nail. This will help give the product something to hold on to and aid adhesion.  It is important to concentrate on the sides of nail too, taking care not to buff the skin. You can place your thumb over the cuticle area of to avoid any over-buffing and redness.
  • Dust off any remaining debris and using a lint free wipe saturated in nail prep solution, thoroughly wipe each nail individually, taking care that all dust and debris is removed from the side walls of the nail. This will help to further remove any oil from and slightly dehydrate the nail, helping to prolong the life of your manicure.

Applying FLEX & BOOST™

  • Apply a thin first coat of FLEX & BOOST and using the 'scrubbing method', work the product into the nail plate in back and forth motions with your brush. This will help the product fill the tiny grooves left by etching the nail plate after buffing, offering further adhesion of the product to the nail plate. Cure for 90 seconds (or 99 seconds on low heat mode if heat spikes are experienced). For extra adhesion, apply Superbond Base Coat before applying the first coat of FLEX & BOOST™
  • Apply a 'slip layer' of FLEX & BOOST™,  this is a coat of product that remains uncured on the nail. Next, apply a very small bead of product and place it in the centre of the nail plate and allow the uncured slip layer to draw the rest product across the nail and settle. Gently 'bounce' the remainder of the bead up towards the cuticle area and draw the remaining product down the nail in a side-to-side motion, sealing free edge.
  • It is important that the free edge is not overloaded with product as this can lead to lifting.
  • FLEX & BOOST has a lower viscosity than regular builder gel, so you may find you require less product for each nail and may need to cure each nail individually, curing for 90 seconds (or 99 seconds on low heat mode if heat spikes are experienced).

Applying Superbond Base Coat & HEMA Free Gel Colour

  • Follow preparation steps above
  • Apply one layer of Superbond Base Coat and using the 'scrubbing method', work the product into the nail plate in back and forth motions with your brush. This will help the product fill the tiny grooves left by etching the nail plate after buffing, offering further adhesion of the product to the nail plate. Cure for 90 seconds (or 99 seconds on low heat mode if heat spikes are experienced).
  • Apply one coat of your chosen HEMA free colour as you would normally and cure for 90 seconds. Follow with an additional coats as required.
  • Apply Hyper Shine Top Coat and cure for 90 seconds.

  • Do not soak nails in water or wash your client's hands before application. Additional moisture can lead to eventual lifting of the product.
  • Do not apply oils, cuticle remover solutions or hand creams to your clients hands before application, this too can lead to eventual lifting of the product.
  • Advise clients to avoid harsh chemicals including cleaning products, chlorine and retinol.

What is the difference between BUILD & BOOST™ and FLEX & BOOST™ builder gels?

BUILD & BOOST™ is what you would refer to as a traditional 'builder in a bottle'. It does not require a primer or base coat and can applied directly to the natural nail. It can also be used as a superstrength base under gel colour.

BUILD & BOOST™ is perfect for strengthening natural nails as well as building long extentions using tips or forms.

BUILD & BOOST™ can be infilled of soaked off with acetone.

BUILD & BOOST™ contains HEMA.

FLEX & BOOST™ is our HEMA free bottled builder gel and is also free from Di-HEMA, HPMA & IBOA. We recommend using the HEMA free Superbond Base Coat to offer greater adhesion and longevity.

FLEX & BOOST™ is great for adding strength to natural nails but we do not recommend building long extensions with tips or forms du to its lower viscosity.

FLEX & BOOST™ can be infilled of soaked off with acetone.

Can HEMA Free FLEX & BOOST™ be used with tips of forms?

We don't recommend building long extensions with FLEX & BOOST™ due to its lower viscosity. For long, strong overlays, try our range of BUILD & BOOST™ products.

Can BUILD & BOOST™ and FLEX & BOOST™ be infilled?

Yes, both products can be infilled.

I'm having trouble removing my gel product, what can I do?

All our products soak off with 100% acetone. Ensure you have filed off enough product to allow the acetone to penetrate deep into the product to aid removal. We recommend filing off 70-80% of the gel overlay before soaking off. An E-file will help to speed up the removal process.

If the product is not fully removed after the first round of soak off, rewrap the nails and soak again. Ensure the nails are tightly wrapped in foil with the shiny side facing inwards to aid the natural heat conduction from the body, this will help to speed up the process.
